I remember walking to kindergarten with my late paternal grandfather and being soo happy to go to school. He told me great stories about school so I always looked forward to going to school and coming back to tell him about my experiences.

My first grade teacher, her name is Ms Mmapadi or Mma Mmapadi in Setswana terms.

My favorite high school memory was when one of my sports instructors brainwashed me to run the 1500 meters race for one of the school athletics teams. I was a short distance ( 100/200/400 m) runner so that was very challenging for me but they made me believe I can do it and I believe them , so I won the race. I also got awarded the sports person of the year during my senior year in high school, that was to recognize all my golf success and it was such an honor and a blessing.

They offered me academic and golf scholarships with courses that were important for my desired career path.

My first major, I had no idea what I was doing, I was told it would be good to have a business related degree. During my first year in college, I quickly fell in love with Economics because it sounded like I can make a lot of impact in people and communities. I decided on Agriculture Economics for the same reason of learning how to be a community developer and then I fell in love with nature so I decided to learn how to take care of people and their environments. Ideally I want a full blown career in environmental sustainability.

  • Special problems in Agriculture
  • Farm Organization and Management
  • Contemporary Issues in Natural Resources

I had a great time with the University of Botswana (UB) Living and Learning Community. Most of my personal and professional development foundation comes from my time at UB. At Alcorn State University I learnt about environmental justice and did some amazing research and workshops around the topic with amazing people. At the University of Arkansas in Monticello I expanded my knowledge in environmental sustainability and natural resources management.

I would say first start with self awareness, what do you like, what are you good at and what do people say you are good at, most of the time you can find your answer just by asking yourself these few questions.
